Parra Village

Parra, one of the most beautiful and serene village abundantly bestowed with scenic beauty. The typically caju covered hills hedge the North-West from Assagao, Anjuna and Arpora in an emerald semi-circle. Otherwise Parra shares borders with Mapusa, Guirim and Nagoa.. It is situated 4km away from sub-district headquarter Mapusa and 12km away from district headquarter Panaji.

The undulating topography dissolves in the vast, fertile sandy plains and sprawls over 3.5 square kilometres of picturesque countryside.The array of coconut palm trees along the road bisecting the lush green paddy fields overlooking St.Anne church has become a world famous tourist spot and has featured in over 250 Indian and foreign films and magazines. Parra also happens to be birth place of Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar and visionary MLA and Dy. Speaker Mr. Michael Lobo. Parra Sarpanch Mrs. Delilah Lobo along with Panch members is constantly striving for the betterment of its villagers.Parra has seen most all round development and progress since 2012.

A well equipped gymnasium with state of the art gearspecially for the residents of Parra with full time Instructor, regular Yoga classes and an indoor games and activity area to encourage people to take exercise and maintain good health.Upgradation work of Football ground was also carried out along with construction of changing room. A Health clinic Graca Costa and a laboratory was also setup recently wheremedical checkups, tests and camps are organized free of charge for the villagers throughout the year.Village is also illuminated with LED lights.

In addition, the Panchayat with the assistance of local MLA has completed numerous projects including construction offootpath pavements, side walks, recreational benches apart from revamping the drainage system of the village.
